COVID-19 - Visiting Hospice premises or shops

During Delta ALERT LEVEL 2

To help us protect the health and wellbeing of people in our care, our staff and volunteers, we have the following measures for all visitors at our premises/IPU and for customers at our two Hospice Shops. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

North Haven Hospice premises at 24a Takahe St, Tikipunga, Whangarei

  • Please do not visit if you are unwell (including mild cold symptoms).
  • Upon entry, all visitors must use the COVID Tracer App and scan in using the QR code OR fill out a COVID-19 Record Keeping Slip coupon (we will have these available and ensure this information is kept private). All visitors should use the hand sanitizer available.  There will also be a sign-in process.
  • Face coverings (masks) are mandatory for all visitors. We will have these available if you do not have your own.  Masks are not required to be worn within the patient room in your bubble.
  • Maintain 2-metre physical distancing from others in communal areas.

  • Visitor numbers need to remain limited, as we have to manage the total number of people in the building.
o Single room: 4 designated visitors (including children) with up to 2 visiting at a time, except overnight when 1 visitor may stay.
o Double room: 6 designated visitors (including children) with up to 4 visiting at a time, except overnight when 2 visitors may stay.
o If the patient is deteriorating / dying (regardless or room type), up to 6 designated visitors (including children) with up to 4 visiting at a time, except overnight when 3 visitors may stay.

  • Visiting hours are from 8am to 8pm, unless you're a designated vissitor staying overnight.

North Haven Hospice Shops in Whangarei and Waipu

  • Please do not visit if you are unwell (including mild cold symptoms).
  • All customers, volunteers and staff must use the COVID Tracer App and scan in using the QR code OR fill out a COVID-19 Record Keeping Slip coupon (we will have these available and ensure this information is kept private).
  • Face coverings (masks) are mandatory for all customers, volunteers and staff in the showroom. We will have these available if you do not have your own.
  • Customers are required to maintain at least 2-metre physical distancing in the showroom.
  • Our Hospice Shop in Whangarei can accept donations of goods. Please deliver these to our Drop Off Zone which can be accessed via the carpark off John St or the alleyway off James St. Please phone 09 438 1050 to have large items collected.
  • Also, please do not leave any items outside the front, sides or back of our shops. They risk being rummaged through and potentially damaged, and anything not sellable costs us a significant amount of money to dispose of; money we simply cannot spare.
  • Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to seeing you all back in store when the situation allows.
  • For updates, please follow our Shops Facebook page.
