 Our Patron

Murray Lints

Murray was Chair of the North Haven Hospice Board from 1999 to 2014 and was made Patron upon his retirement from that role. He holds the Queen's Service Medal for his work in education and the community and is a Justice of the Peace. At various times he has led the Northland Hockey Association, the Northland Sports Foundation, the Northland Athletics and Gymnastics Stadium Trust and the Northland Justices of the Peace Association. He is an ex-Principal of Whangarei Boys High School and a Fellow of the New Zealand Educational Administration and Leadership Society.

 Our Board 

North Haven Hospice is governed by a Board of Trustees who are elected and appointed for their special governance and leadership skills. All our Trustees provide their expertise voluntarily and we are indebted to them for their commitment to the ongoing operations of Hospice.

Board Chair, Ann McKillop

Ann is the Chair of the North Haven Hospice Board. Ann has a lifelong career in nursing and brings a wealth of experience to North Haven.

Jim Kilpatrick - North Haven Hospice

Jim Kilpatrick

Jim has been a Board member since 2004, and is currently Chair of the North Haven Hospice Endowment Trust, Director of WRMK Lawyers, Whangarei and is involved extensively in the community.

Pamela Head

Pamela (Pam), worked as the Executive Officer at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School-a position she held for 31 years until her recent retirement. She is extensively involved in her local community as a Funeral and Marriage Celebrant and has completed Macro, Micro and Grief Counselling Papers.

Fay Colthurst

Until November 2017 Fay served as Board Chair. She is an active community worker and was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 1982 and a Judicial Justice since 1984. Fay has also worked at North Haven as an Inpatient Unit volunteer for more than 16 years.  

 Colin Campbell

Colin has been in business management for over 30 years and until recently the Manager at Farmers, Whangarei. Colin has been on the Hospice Board for 2 years and is a local resident.

 Roger McClean

Roger McClean is an architect and director of designgroup architects h+k Ltd. His primary interest outside of architecture is music and he has been the Musical Director for numerous musical theatre productions including West Side Story, Miss Saigon and most recently Mamma Mia. He also performs as pianist and accompanist with singers and instrumentalists throughout Northland, and is currently conductor of the Whangarei Youth Orchestra.

 

 

 

 David Bawden

David has been a Board member since 2015. He is a general practicioner in private practice and has been a GP for over 32 years. In the past he was also employed by North Haven Hospice as a Medical Officer for 16 years.
