It's certainly an honour and a privilege to contribute to the North Haven Hospice Annual Report for the financial year 2024-2025, this very special year in which we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of the original governance committee of our hospice.
During the year, North Haven Hospice has continued to provide essential, compassionate palliative care for people living with life-limiting illnesses and to support their whānau and loved ones throughout this journey of bereavement. Even in a challenging funding environment, our focus on delivering care with dignity, comfort, and respect has never wavered.
Our skilled clinical team, supported by dedicated administrative staff and strong management, have continued to deliver services that are not only professional and effective, but also deeply personal and compassionate. Their commitment to the values of North Haven is at the heart of everything we do.
We are equally grateful for the incredible support we receive from the wider community. Pure volunteers remain the backbone of our organisation, contributing their time, skills and compassion so generously. Their dedication enables us to do far more than we could alone, and we thank them sincerely.
Businesses., community groups and individuals have also shown exceptional generosity through donations, sponsorships and fundraising events over the past year. These contributions do more than bridge the funding gap - they demonstrate the community's belief in our work and commitment to our mission.

Dr Maia Tipene, a recent House Officer with North Haven Hospice, explains her experience with North Haven Hospice and how she sees the difference in our care.
At North Haven Hospice, we believe that planning for the future is an act of love, for yourself and for those who care about you. One of the most important steps you can take today to ensure your wishes are met is to set up an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA).
