Designed for any healthcare worker, registered and non-registered staff caring for people with a palliative care need. Being educated about palliative care will help you improve the assessment and outcomes for people in your care, their family and whānau, as well as yourself and other health care workers. This programme involves online learning, followed by a one day workshop to review and apply theory, with opportunities for practical application. Workshops are held at North Haven Hospice’s premises in Tikipunga, Whangārei. Please contact our Specialist Palliative Care Nurse Educator at education@northhavenhospice.org.nz or 09 437 3355.

My husband Adam was diagnosed with a rare bile duct cancer, in June. He had a major liver operation, removing three quarters of it and for a while, things looked hopeful. But a year later, the cancer returned to his stomach lining. This is our story.

The biennial Hospice House Tour is made possible by a group of committed, passionate local volunteers who plan the Hospice House Tour with their group Give for Good. This year’s tour will feature beautiful and inspiring homes in the Whangārei Heads area.
