For over a year, the North Haven Hospice art team has been curating a collection of rare and distinctive pieces from donations and estates, culminating in a major fundraising art auction to be held in-store this August.
All proceeds will support the vital work North Haven Hospice provides in our community.
The auction features an exceptional mix of early, modernist, and contemporary art, with works by artists connected to Elam School of Fine Arts, Whangārei Art Museum, and the Northland Society of Arts. Highlights include sought-after pieces by Rei Hamon, Whites Aviation, MahyGlass, and John Hoyte, alongside rare works by Northland artist David Cunis—including a 1970s portrait in the antique style. A standout is a genuine early Victorian colonial oil portrait, believed to possibly depict Rev. Samuel Marsden.
Drinks and nibbles will be served during the event.
Please note: This is an R18 event due to alcohol being served.

North Haven Hospice’s Mid-Winter Fundraiser - A Taste to Remember - 22nd June - 17th July 2026

My husband Adam was diagnosed with a rare bile duct cancer, in June. He had a major liver operation, removing three quarters of it and for a while, things looked hopeful. But a year later, the cancer returned to his stomach lining. This is our story.

The biennial Hospice House Tour is made possible by a group of committed, passionate local volunteers who plan the Hospice House Tour with their group Give for Good. This year’s tour will feature beautiful and inspiring homes in the Whangārei Heads area.
